16 July 2009
The Victorian Lebanese Community Council (VLCC) has been operating since 2006, with programs and activities successfully launched within the local and extended community. As we approach our second year anniversary, which will be held on the 17th of October 2009 at the St Kilda Town Hall, we are very pleased to officially announce our latest update. The Australian Lebanese Youth Association (ALYA), which is a well established and active organization, has recently merged with the VLCC.
We welcome our new 6 board members, who were previously heading the ALYA. We are very confident that the merge will be nothing short of a great success, and we look forward to achieving our objective under one organization, the VLCC. It is also important to highlight that the VLCC will continue with the capacity of addressing the needs of the younger community, which will be managed by our upcoming VLCC youth officer.
We are confident that with the merge, the VLCC will be better armed to service the Australian Lebanese community, continue to develop important collaborations, engage the broader community and above all strengthen the harmony within our own community. This merge should be viewed as a clear example of the benefits of unity ultimately aiming to better address and serve the interests of the broader community.
