VLCC´s Media Award: Journalist Contribution to Cultural Awareness

It is important to appreciate the influence that journalism and reporting of a high calibre may have on the minds of its readers, not only moulding society’s thoughts but also having the ability to affect its practices. As such, the role of a journalist in transferring information carries with it an immense responsibility. Writers who are committed to honest reporting are an important vessel which we hope to preserve and recognise as valuable underpinnings of our society.

On the night of VLCC's 2nd Anniversary, October 17th 2009, awards will be presented to Journalists whose work has contributed to our appreciation and understanding of Lebanese culture and of the Australian Lebanese community. To assist VLCC in recognising such individuals we invite you to nominate journalists whose work you have seen and feel should be recognised. Authors may be of any cultural background and must have a written piece which has contributed positively to our understanding of the Australian Lebanese community and culture.

Nominations close on August 31st 2009.
